I'm Applying for a Mucous Membranectomy.

Hey Y'all.

Well, how's everyone doing? When i said that I would write about Ashley...I LIED!!! Bahaha. You'll never know how infinitely cool, nice and fun she is. (Unless you're my sister who is coming to visit...she'll get to know.)
So, what's been going on lately...well, I am getting over a cold, which is annoying. But I must admit that it's the shortest cold that I've ever had, even if my voice still sounds a little more dark than usual. It's midterm time, which means that I spend a greater percentage of my time in my pyjamas.
I just got my Macleans for this week, and included in it is an article about the new line of products (shoes, restaraunts, vodka, etc.) being put out by Adbusters. Now, i'm not sure if everyone knows what adbusters is, but I think you can check it out HERE. Basically, it's this site that criticizes big corporations. Now, none of this is the point. The article itself had a line in it that made me smile.

Of the ad campaign by Adbusters: "Clearly its target market is first year poli-sci majors coming to terms with middle class guilt for the first time"

Which made me think about my own education. It's inherently weird having a class that is supposed to make you want to help the less fortunate while you realize that you're priviledged enough to sit around in class and debate whether or not humans exist. That is truely the sign of being spoiled rotten by the world. The fact that I'm in Nova Scotia downplays this guilt in general, because a lot of people who live out here have some element of poverty in their lives, but it amplifies my own feelings of "luckiness."

Anyway, as for coming to terms with it, I'm still trying. But maybe if I never do, that will be a good thing.

And She Vowed to Begin Writing Once Again...

Hey everyone out there in internetland.... I know it's been a long time, but I also know that as my faithful fans, you'll forgive me immediately.

Well, I know the burning question you've all been meaning to ask is: what's new?

Frankly, nothing. In fact, so little is new that that is the very reason that I haven't written in so long. Well, there is BurMac....CLICK HERE FOR EDITORIAL CARTOON GOODNESS!

Um...if you want to know more about that, I can send you the e-mail that all the students have recieved. Just e-mail me at my school box: x2004bhj@stfx.ca

What else....My new poli-sci prof is a crazy Left-Wing Fanatic, but he gets this great twinkle in his eye when you take him on and you're smart enough to do it. It's awesome. He's making us read Chomsky's 9-11 as our official text...how messed up is that? (Answer: fairly messed)

On the home front, Lindsay has pneumonia yet again...(as a nurse, she really has to work on her immunity skills.) Ashley (aka "Smashley") will be featured in tomorrow's fan of the week episode.

Okay, so for those of you who are like "damn, I need more Natalie than I'm getting at this point" (calm down, I know there are lots of you) You should listen to my radio show. Sundays at 2pm EST on CFXU, The Fox
Whitney Baker: that's 3pm
Cam Stark: that's 11am

And there you have it. Tomorrow I PROMISE I will feature Ashley and make a note about my biggest pet peeve re: street names in Antigonish.
